Convert video file format

As there are hundreds of combinations of video file formats and codecs, there may be times when your video is not in the correct format to be uploaded to the website. Converting the video into a more recognised format will allow the video to be uploaded to the website and, in most cases, the size of the video will also be reduced, meaning it will take less time for the video to upload to the website.

There are many different software packages available to download and install which will allow you to convert videos from one format to another. One of the easiest software packages is ‘Any Video Converter’ which can be downloaded and installed for free.

Once you have downloaded and installed the software, open it up and you will see the main welcome screen (see below).

To convert a video into a different format click the ‘Add video’ button (see below).

To convert a video into a different format click the 'Add Video' button to choose the video to convert

You will now be asked to browse your computer to find the video that you wish to convert into a different format. Once you have found the video you wish to convert, select it and click on ‘Open’ (see below).

Choose the output video format that the video will be converted to

The video will now be added to the list of videos to be converted. Next, you will need to choose the format the video will be converted to. Click on the large button in the top right corner of the window. You will then be shown a list of formats the file can be converted into. We recommend that you select ‘DVD video PAL (*.mpg)’ from the drop down list (see below).

Choose the output video format that the video will be converted to

Your video is now ready to convert into the selected file format. Click on the ‘Convert’ button to start the conversion process (see below).

Click the 'Convert' button to start the conversion of the video

Your video will now be converted. The progress bar will show how the conversion of the video is going (see below).

Once the video has finished converting, the folder containing the converted video will open, allowing you to view the video.

You can now upload your video to the website.

  • Financial website requirements for single & multi-academy trusts

In June 2021, the Education and Skills Funding Agency released updated guidance relating to the financial requirements for Single- and Multi-Academy Trusts

The full list of changes can be found on the government website or in the 2021 edition of the Academy Trust Handbook 2021 and we strongly recommend that all academy members, trustees, local governors, accounting officers, chief financial officers, auditors and governance professionals read the document prior to the regulations coming into effect on 1 September 2021

Academy Trusts must comply with the Academy Trust Handbook as a condition of their funding agreement. It provides an overarching framework for implementation of effective financial management and other controls, consistent with your obligations as publicly funded bodies.
